Road to Bali (1952)
Bing Crosby stars alongside Bob Hope as two song-and-dance men that escape marriage by signing on as deep-sea divers headed to the island of Bali, where they attract the attention of Princess Lala.
Academy Award Resumé: Bing Crosby was nominated as Best Actor in a Leading Role for The Bells of St. Mary’s (1945) and The Country Girl (1954), but won for Going My Way (1944). Crosby became the first actor to be twice nominated for an Oscar for portraying the same character – Father Chuck O’Malley.

Nicholas Nickelby (1947)
Charles Dickens’ title character is a resourceful young man forced to protect his family against the machinations of his evil Uncle Ralph (Cedric Hardwicke). Cast out into the cold, cruel world, Nicholas deals with friend and foe alike, coming full circle to face his wicked uncle as an equal.
